Drupal or no CMS?

Hi all,

I need some advise how to proceed with my project.

I want to set up a site with a login area for multiple companies and user representing a company should be able to log on to the site. There should be company specific information/documents available only for users belonging to the company and the users should have different access to content. Each company will have related documents on the site that will be reviewed by a specific role of administrators. The site admins therefore needs to be able to access documents belonging to different companies. The site admins and the users should be able to comment a specific document and these comments needs to be tracked. There will be more functionality needed but these are my main needs.

I have basic knowledge of web development and I have already created a prototype from scratch using html, php and mysql. However, I am now looking for a more robust and solid foundation for the site in terms of user management and document workflow. I.e. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel and I have a feeling that I should use a CMS. Do you agree or should I continue developing my site by myself?

I have started taking some training in Drupal and I would be very happy to find a framework taking care of the user management and the document workflow but still being able to customise parts of the site.

Many thanks for all your feedback to point me in the right direction.
