Drupal Developer

University Marketing is seeking an experienced web developer to serve as a member of a communications/creative team. Responsibilities include website management and development, as well as maintenance of websites hosted primarily in Drupal. The developer will be expected to create new sites and themes in Drupal; understand, implement, and analyze/diagnose Drupal 7 modules; configure Drupal, set permissions, create content types, menus, blocks, taxonomies, fields, views, and features; install, configure, and customize modules as needed; test, analyze, and debug specialized functions and display issues; manage and deploy code to existing sites using Git; and ensure that sites conform to web standards and are accessible. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to configure, customize, and secure Drupal websites, and develop custom themes based on graphic designs. Experience in Drupal site building, and custom theme development, writing HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript in version control systems is required. Experience with LAMP stack administration, Drush, responsive design, CSS preprocessors, and Git version control is preferred. Candidates must be able to manage multiple high-priority projects in a deadline-intensive environment under general supervision. If you are the right candidate, you will work with an experienced team of marketing strategists, creative specialists, and web developers to design, develop, and support web sites for Strategic Communications, focusing on major image web sites for the University. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
